Description : Read Now The Jew Is Not My Enemy by Tarek Fatah and you can download with pub, pdf, txt, doc, and more file format with free account. a liberal muslim and critically acclaimed author explores the historical, political, and theological basis for centuries of muslim animosity towards jews, debunking long-held myths and tracing a history of hate and its impact today. more than nine years after 9/11 and 60 years after the creation of the state of israel, the world is no closer to solving, let alone understanding, the psychological and political divide between jews and muslims. while countless books have been written on the subject of terrorism, political islam, and jihad, barely a handful address the theological and historical basis of the jew—muslim divide. following the terrorist attacks on mumbai in november 2008, in which pakistani jihadis sought out and murdered the members of a local jewish centre, tarek fatah began an in-depth investigation of the historical basis for the crime. in this provocative new book, fatah uses extensive research to trace how literature from as early as the seventh century has fueled the hatred of jews by muslims. fatah debunks the anti-jewish writings of the hadith literature, takes apart the arab supremacist doctrines that lend fuel to the fire, and reinterprets supposed anti-jewish passages in the quran. in doing so he argues that hating jews is against the essence of the islamic spirit and suggests what needs to be done to eliminate the agonizing friction between the two communities. from the hardcover edition.

Description : Read Now Cascades Of Violence by John Braithwaite and you can download with pub, pdf, txt, doc, and more file format with free account. as in the cascading of water, violence and nonviolence can cascade down from commanding heights of power (as in waterfalls), up from powerless peripheries, and can undulate to spread horizontally (flowing from one space to another). as with containing water, conflict cannot be contained without asking crucial questions about which variables might cause it to cascade from the top-down, bottom up and from the middle-out. the book shows how violence cascades from state to state. empirical research has shown that nations with a neighbor at war are more likely to have a civil war themselves (sambanis 2001). more importantly in the analysis of this book, war cascades from hot spot to hot spot within and between states (autesserre 2010, 2014). the key to understanding cascades of hot spots is in the interaction between local and macro cleavages and alliances (kalyvas 2006). the analysis exposes the folly of asking single-level policy questions like do the benefits and costs of a regime change in iraq justify an invasion? we must also ask what other violence might cascade from an invasion of iraq? the cascades concept is widespread in the physical and biological sciences with cascades in geology, particle physics and the globalization of contagion. the past two decades has seen prominent and powerful applications of the cascades idea to the social sciences (sunstein 1997; gladwell 2000; sikkink 2011). in his discussion of ethnic violence, james rosenau (1990) stressed that the image of turbulence developed by mathematicians and physicists could provide an important basis for understanding the idea of bifurcation and related ideas of complexity, chaos, and turbulence in complex systems. he classified the bifurcated systems in contemporary world politics as the multicentric system and the statecentric system. each of these affects the others in multiple ways, at multiple levels, and in ways that make events enormously hard to predict (rosenau 1990, 2006). he replaced the idea of events with cascades to describe the event structures that 'gather momentum, stall, reverse course, and resume anew as their repercussions spread among whole systems and subsystems' (1990: 299). through a detailed analysis of case studies in south asia, that built on john braithwaite's twenty-five year project peacebuilding compared, and coding of conflicts in different parts of the globe, we expand rosenau's concept of global turbulence and images of cascades. in the cascades of violence in south asia, we demonstrate how micro-events such as localized riots, land-grabbing, pervasive militarization and attempts to assassinate political leaders are linked to large scale macro-events of global politics. we argue in order to prevent future conflicts there is a need to understand the relationships between history, structures and agency; interest, values and politics; global and local factors and alliances.

"this is a fascinating, well illustrated and thoroughly documented response to the relentless anti-christian propaganda that has been generated by muslin and marxist groups and by hollywood film makers. as karl marx declared: 'the first battlefield is the re-writing of history!' 'peter knows first hand the nature of the enemy the west is facing and exposes it brilliantly in this book on islam. he begins by documenting the close relationship between islam and slavery and then chapter by chapter reveals the terrible cost of thirteen centuries of islamic invasion, conquest and brutalisation. this is a book that every christian should read and pass along to friends; and one that every home-schooling family should require as part of their children's curriculum' -- dr. brian m. abshire. 'dr. peter hammond cuts through layers of misinformation and uncovers astonishing historical facts and details long buried by islamic revisionists. you'll find out their real agenda for tomorrow by discovering what they actually did yesterday-plus a field-tested plan of how to win muslims to christ' -- rev. bill bathman. 'for the sake of this generation, and coming ones, someone had to do what dr. peter hammond has just done; setting the record straight on the different role players in the slave trade' -- rev. fano sibisi. 'slavery, terrorism & islam, is must reading to all those who want to find out the roots of the terrorism that is threatening global security' -- rev. jeffreys kayanga." -- back cover.

Description : Read Now The Wretched Of The Earth by Frantz Fanon and you can download with pub, pdf, txt, doc, and more file format with free account. frantz fanon was one of the twentieth century’s most important theorists of revolution, colonialism, and racial difference, and this, his masterwork, is a classic alongside orientalism and the autobiography of malcolm x. the wretched of the earth is a brilliant analysis of the psychology of the colonized and their path to liberation. bearing singular insight into the rage of colonized peoples and the role of violence in historical change, the book also incisively attacks postindependence disenfranchisement of the masses by the elite on one hand, and intertribal and interfaith animosities on the other. a veritable handbook of social reorganization for leaders of emerging nations, the wretched of the earth has had a major impact on civil rights, anticolonialism, and black-consciousness movements around the world. this new translation updates its language for a new generation of readers and its lessons are more vital now than ever.

Description : Read Now The Truth About Muhammad by Robert Spencer and you can download with pub, pdf, txt, doc, and more file format with free account. muhammad: a frank look at his influential (and violent) life and teachings in the truth about muhammad, new york times bestselling author and islam expert robert spencer offers an honest and telling portrait of the founder of islam-perhaps the first such portrait in half a century-unbounded by fear and political correctness, unflinching, and willing to face the hard facts about muhammad's life that continue to affect our world today. from muhammad's first "revelation" from allah (which filled him with terror that he was demonpossessed) to his deathbed (from which he called down curses upon jews and christians), it's all here-told with extensive documentation from the sources that muslims themselves consider most reliable about muhammad. spencer details muhammad's development from a preacher of hellfire and damnation into a political and military leader who expanded his rule by force of arms, promising his warriors luridly physical delights in paradise if they were killed in his cause. he explains how the qur'an's teaching on warfare against unbelievers developed-with constant war to establish the hegemony of islamic law as the last stage. spencer also gives the truth about muhammad's convenient "revelations" justifying his own licentiousness; his joy in the brutal murders of his enemies; and above all, his clear marching orders to his followers to convert non-muslims to islam-or force them to live as inferiors under islamic rule. in the truth about muhammad, you'll learn - the truth about muhammad's multiple marriages (including one to a nine-year-old) - how muhammad set legal standards that make it virtually impossible to prove rape in islamic countries - how muhammad's example justifies jihad and terrorism - the real "satanic verses" incident (not the salman rushdie version) that remains a scandal to muslims - how muhammad's faulty knowledge of judaism and christianity has influenced islamic theology--and colored muslim relations with jews and christians to this day. recognizing the true nature of islam, spencer argues, is essential for judging the prospects for largescale islamic reform, the effective prosecution of the war on terror, the democracy project in afghanistan and iraq, and immigration and border control to protect the united states from terrorism. all of which makes it crucial for every citizen (and policymaker) who loves freedom to read and ponder the truth about muhammad

Description : Read Now Political Islam Justice And Governance by Mbaye Lo and you can download with pub, pdf, txt, doc, and more file format with free account. this book argues that political islam (represented by its moderate and militant forms) has failed to govern effectively or successfully due to its inability to reconcile its discursive understanding of islam, centered on literal justice, with the dominant neo-liberal value of freedom. consequently, islamists' polities have largely been abject, often tragic failures in providing a viable collective life and sound governance. this argument is developed theoretically and supported through a set of case studies represented by the muslim brotherhood in egypt (under president muhammad morsi's tenure), hassan turabi's national islamic front in sudan and the islamic state in iraq and syria (isis). it is ideal for audiences interested in regional politics, islamic studies and middle eastern studies. mbaye lo is associate professor of the practice of asian and middle eastern studies and director of duke in the arab world academic program, duke university, usa.
