Description : Read Now Single Women Land And Livelihood Vulnerability In A Communal Area In Zimbabwe by Gaynor Paradza and you can download with pub, pdf, txt, doc, and more file format with free account. there has been limited research on single women in customary tenure areas. single women's experiences have been marginalized in research that focuses on notions of property, male headed domestic units and relies on normative research methods to investigate resource access in the communal farming areas of zimbabwe. this work focuses on the hearth-hold as a domestic unit and uses innovative research methods to investigate how women outside the marriage institution negotiate access to land, livelihood resources and make decisions to cope with livelihood vulnerability in customary tenure areas. the research illustrates through a focus on pathways and rural-urban connections how single women make decisions to secure livelihoods under fast changing conditions. the findings that patriarchy is only one but not the only institution governing land access in customary tenure areas and that women have more room to negotiate land access in communal areas especially through entitlements, family obligations and exploitation of multi-layered tenure systems are some of the publication's contribution to knowledge on single women, customary land tenure and livelihood vulnerability.

Description : Read Now Beyond The Crises Zimbabwe S Prospects For Transformation by Murisa, Tendai and you can download with pub, pdf, txt, doc, and more file format with free account. over the past years, few african countries have been the focus of discussions and analyses generating a vast array of literature as much as zimbabwe. the socioeconomic and political crises since the turn of the century have deeply transformed the country from the ideals of a vibrant freshly independent nation just two decades earlier. these transformations have necessitated the call for the restructuring of zimbabwean society, polity, and economy. but this literature remains exclusively within the realm of academic thinking and theorising, with no concerted effort to move beyond this by explicitly drawing out the policy implications. beyond the crises: zimbabwe's prospects for transformation is a welcome addition to the academic and policy literature with a much broader and all-embracing focus in terms of policy interventions. by focusing on different aspects of social and economic justice, murisa and chikweche go beyond initiating a broad discussion on these two key pillars of human development with a view to suggesting possible future directions of practical solutions and policy development for the attainment of inclusive social and economic justice for zimbabweans.

Description : Read Now Zimbabwe S Fast Track Land Reform by Prosper B. Matondi and you can download with pub, pdf, txt, doc, and more file format with free account. the fast track land reform programme in zimbabwe has emerged as a highly contested reform process both nationally and internationally. the image of it has all too often been that of the widespread displacement and subsequent replacement of various people, agricultural-related production systems, facets and processes. the reality, however, is altogether more complex. providing new and much-needed empirical research, this in-depth book examines how processes such as land acquisition, allocation, transitional production outcomes, social life, gender and tenure, have influenced and been influenced by the forces driving the programme. it also explores the ways in which the land reform programme has created a new agrarian structure based on small- to medium-scale farmers. in attempting to resolve the problematic issues the reforms have raised, the author argues that it is this new agrarian formation which provides the greatest scope for improving zimbabwe’s agriculture and development. based on a broader geographical scope than any previous study carried out on the subject, this is a landmark work on a subject of considerable controversy.
